Pray First - Day 5

If we want to live a quiet and peaceable life then we need to pray for those who are in authority, especially in the government. Though our culture has turned away from godliness and reverence for God, with His intervention this can change.
Let's ask God to raise up men and women who are agents for change in His hands. Leaders like Cyrus the Great who supported Nehemiah and Ezra to rebuild the walls and restore the temple in Jerusalem. There's hope for change when we come to God in prayer on behalf of those who He placed in authority (cf. Romans 13:1-6).
